You may have seen Toby Beard light up the stage at your favourite local Perth venues, or at WA’s beloved festivals like Blues at Bridgetown and Nannup. Maybe you’ve caught her touring the East Coast or spreading her music across the globe. But there’s so much more to Toby than most people know.

She’s a proud mother of two, based in the northern suburbs of Perth. She’s recorded over 10 independent albums. And now, she’s just returned from one of the biggest moments of her career — opening for the legendary Carlos Santana in Germany, in front of 12,000 people.

Toby and her five-piece band owned the stage from the first note. The crowd clapped, jumped, sang, and cheered, completely swept up in the energy and magic Toby brings so effortlessly. And the magic didn’t end there.

Backstage, Santana himself invited Toby and her band to hang out in his dressing room — sharing music, jamming, and connecting on a deep, musical level. He watched her soundcheck, danced to her songs, and even joined them for dinner. And then, in a moment that Toby will never forget, he invited her on stage to perform alongside his iconic 8-piece band.

Introducing her to the crowd, Santana said:
“Some mornings you wake up and just know something special is going to happen. It was an honour to meet this wonderful singer today.”
